Today is the Solemnity of All Souls Day. At Morning Prayer, I remembered those of my friends and family who have left this life to be with Jesus. I’m reminded by their lives as well as their absence, that we must live today as we wish to be remembered tomorrow. This life is transient, never intended to be our final destiny since the time of Adam’s sin. Thinking of life as something we pass through is a key to understanding that we are living in eternity even as we live in the constructed idea of time.
